Sakshi astonished on Dhonis retirement rumours

Mahendra Singh Dhonis wife Sakshi expressed astonishment on rumours about her husbands retirement on social media, clearly indicating that the former India captain is still eyeing a return to the national team. Dhoni has been away from cricket for over a year now. He last played for India during the World Cup semifinal loss to New Zealand and since then his future has been a constant speculation as he did not find a place in the BCCIs centrally contracted players list.

He is low profile. During the lockdown he had no presence on the social media. I dont know where these things come from. I just dont know, Sakshi said during an Instagram Live hosted by Chennai Super Kings. See if you have to be prepared for these things when you have social media exposure... People have their opinions. Two days ago when that Dhoni retires was trending, the message was put out... Whenever anything happens, I start getting calls and messages.

The speculation further gained steam with uncertainty surrounding this years IPL in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic as it is believed that Dhoni is eyeing a return to the Indian team through the cashrich T20 league. We of course miss CSK, still wondering whether IPL going to happen or not. My daughter also asking when it will happen? Lets see...

But if there is no cricket, the entire family plans to hit the hills in Uttarakhand. If there is cricket, there will be cricket. But Mahi and I have planned to hit the hills. We are planning to go to Uttarakhand, stay in small villages. We will take road trips thats safe. No fiights, Sakshi said. Dhoni, however, did not come for the show. You know how Mahi is... Mahi wont really come and talk on Insta Live. Knowing Mahi I know they (fans) are crazy about him. But we all know that hes kept a low profile on social media.

Sakshi further delved on the emotional aspect of Captain Cool and remembered when he led CSK to the IPL title in 2018 as the Chennai outfit, along with Rajasthan Royals, were making a comeback to the tournament after serving a two-year ban. Mahi is always emotional about cricket. Its his love, she said of Dhoni, who is the only captain to win all major ICC trophies (50-over World Cup, T20 World Cup, and Champions Trophy) and also took India to the No 1 Test ranking. He has got a thinking brain, it does not rest. When he plays video games, it helps him divert his mind, which is a good thing. Nowadays PUBG has encroached my bed. Mahi is sleep-talking about PUBG these days, she said. Video games are a stress-buster for him. When he plays video games, it helps him divert his mind, which is a good thing.

Away from cricket, the 38-year-old is also busy pampering his passion for bikes. He bought parts and assembled them. He was assembling a bike and fully assembled it and he forgot to put one part and the next day he had to open the bike and he had do it all over again, Sakshi said. Sakshi also opened up about the former captains camaraderie with his teammates. Mahi has always kept his door open. It has been like that since 2010 (when we got married). People come, we chat sometimes till 3-4 in the morning. When they come to talk to Mahi about cricket, I go away.

In a lighter vein, Sakshi said only she can pick up a fight with ice-cool Dhoni. Nobody picks up a fight with him. I am the only one, she concluded.

MS Dhoni's fans don't want him to become older. Former India captain Dhoni's latest grey-bearded look have disappointed many of his fans and they sent Twitter into a frenzy. "Aww... M.S Dhoni in Salt and Pepper Look... :-)) ??", a CSK fan wrote. Another fan posted two photographs. One when he went to Chennai for the IPL practice games (which eventually had to be called off because of COVID-19) and the other one is most recent. Dhoni was seen clean shaven in the first photo and a grey bearded loom in the second photo. "Dhoni before lockdown vs after lockdown. March month he arrived Chennai with a fresh look & we would have seen him in yellow but Coronavirus had other ideas and ruined everything ????", he wrote. "How the men (sic) looks after carrying the entire burden and blame for past 10 years..! This pic is very emotional msdians... a Chennai fan wrote. "Dhoni looks so old.., another tweeted.

People may have been speculating about his old age and retirement but not his mother, Devaki. Speaking exclusively from Ranchi, on Mothers Day said, "yes, I have seen his new look but he's not that old. No child is ever old for any mother". "I am not sure about his playing the T20 World Cup. Let the Corona Virus be over first. He knows best when to take a call".

India chinaman bowler, Kuldeep Yadav strongly feels that Dhoni is in fine form and should be included in the national camp for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia in October and November. I am of course missing MS Dhoni. Whenever you play with a senior player, you become fond of them and start missing them and their presence, Kuldeep told in a recent chat show. In a recent video, the most experienced India wicket keeper- batsman can be seen enjoying some quality fatherdaughter moments with his daughter Ziva. The duo can be seen running a friendly race inside the farmhouse to pass their time during this lock down period.

Meanwhile, former India captain Sourav Ganguly said the biggest day in Indian cricket was when MS Dhoni led the team to the 2011 World Cup trophy. He also said that he had been delighted that there had been several players who had fallen at the final hurdle under his leadership in 2003 who finally managed to lift the trophy. For me, the biggest day was when India won the World Cup in 2011. The great MS Dhoni that shot, that six off the last ball will remain in Indian cricket history forever and what a moment it was, Ganguly said in an online video lecture for Unacademy.

Speaking about his legacy in Indian cricket, Ganguly said, That team had seven or eight players who started their careers under me. The likes of (Virender) Sehwag, Dhoni himself, Yuvraj (Singh), Zaheer (Khan), Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra. So I think thats a legacy which I was extremely happy to leave behind as a captain. And that was my biggest legacy that I left a side which had the ability of winning at home and away from home.

Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra and Harbhajan Singh were the five players in the 2011 side who had been part of the 2003 World Cup final in Johannesburg. Ganguly had previously said that he would have loved to have Dhoni in his 2003 side. In his book A Century Is Not Enough, he had written: I wish Id Dhoni in my 2003 World Cup team. I was told that when we were playing the 2003 World Cup final, he was still a ticket collector with Indian Railways. Unbelievable!
