Cat fight between the two Bollywood beauties starts once again

MUMBAI, 8 OCT. Sonam Kapoor attended an event in which she was asked about allegations of sexual harassment against filmmaker Vikas Bahl. Sonam expressed that what happened was just disgusting. However, at the same event, when she was asked about Kangana Ranaut’s accusations against Vikas Bahl, Sonam said that the 'Tanu Weds Manu' actress says many things and it is hard to take her seriously sometimes. However, Sonam also expressed that she likes Kangana’s spunk.

Furious with Sonam’s comment on her, Kangana has now fired back at the 'Neerja' actress. The actress, disappointed with Sonam’s response, slammed her for the judgemental comments and went on a rant insisting that Sonam has no business or right to judge her. She wondered what gives Sonam the license of trusting some women and not the others. Kangana added that she is known to be an articulate person, who has represented India in many international summits; she is called as a thought and youth influencer to these summits and that she is not known because of her father. Kangana further went on to say that Sonam is not a good actress or a good speaker, and as such doesn’t have the credibility to pass judgement on a celebrated actress like herself.

Last year, Kangana Ranaut’s comment on nepotism in the Bollywood film industry, opened a floodgate for discussions. While some rubbished the actress’ claims, many stood by her and even shared instances of their past struggles in bagging film deals. Just when everyone thought this heated discussion was over, the lady who started it all was once again put in the hot seat and asked to speak about the same.

Starting off on a positive note, and speaking from experience, Kangana said "outsiders" in the film industry should not lose heart if they face discrimination. Speaking at an event she said, "It is 'okay' to be discriminated against if you are an outsider because there are things that one does to know as an outsider newcomer. People are not responsible for you (the newcomer), you have to be persistent, observant to know things. Today I am talking about it because I made it to this level. I learnt."

When asked if she managed to change filmmaker Karan Johar’s viewpoint with her statement, Kangana said, "I am no one to do that, my intention was not that. He believes in bloodlines, dynasty and such talents worked for him, isn't it? I cannot make him believe in talents that he does not believe in, but I can say what I want to say."

She went on to add, "I said it (about nepotism) out of observation, I am not an activist here, though I would love to serve my society; nepotism exists everywhere, we have grown up seeing it. When I talked about it, perhaps people were subconsciously observing it, they wanted to talk about it. My comment worked as a catalyst."

After having her fair share of controversies every now and then, Kangana Ranaut can be seen making some bold choices on her work front. The actress will soon start shooting for ‘Mental Hai Kya’ opposite her ‘Queen’ co-star Rajkummar Rao.

Speaking about film Kangana reportedly said that the way her life unfolded in the past few years, she realised there was so much stigma attached to being different. ‘Mental’ or ‘psycho’ were the terms used to shame her, but these can’t be used casually as swear words.

She added that when this script came along, she reportedly knew that she had to do it to break the stigma around it.

Although not much has been revealed about the film, the makers have been revealing some quirky posters of the film from past few days. The psychological thriller, to be directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, is set to go on floors soon.
