New Funding for the Melbourne Shwetambar Jain Sangh Centre

MELBOURNE, 24 SEP. The Melbourne Shwetambar Jain Sangh Centre community is set to receive $230,000 from the Andrews Labor Government to support the improvement, safety and upgrade of an existing community facility.

This funding will come through the Victorian Government’s Multicultural Community Infrastructure Fund (MCIF). The MCIF supports Victoria’s Indian community to feel connected with their traditional culture as they participate in and contribute to our wider society. The Victorian Government is committed to promoting an inclusive society where every Victorian is able to preserve and share their culture and traditions, and have spaces that are functional, safe  and culturally appropriate. Funding will contribute to the costs of the refurbishment of the existing Community Centre that supports the Jain Indian Community (Jainism) in Moorabbin. This project will ensure the Indian community will continue to have access to good, safe and functional facilities that enable them to better utilise services, participate in activities and share their vibrant culture with the wider Victorian community.
